**Therapist Develops 'Worry Window' Technique to Help Manage Anxiety**

**Therapist Introduces 10-Minute 'Worry Window' to Tackle Anxiety**

A therapist has developed a method known as the "worry window," intended to help people manage anxiety. It involves setting aside just ten minutes daily to focus on worries. This technique allows individuals to confront their concerns without letting them disrupt other parts of their day.

Hannah, the therapist behind this approach, explained that when anxiety arises, "worries have a tendency to follow us all day." This constant worry can impact daily life and mental well-being. Instead of attempting to avoid these thoughts entirely, she suggests providing them with a designated time and space. "Instead of trying to push them away completely, give them somewhere to go," she advised.

The goal of the worry window isn't to eliminate worry, but to prevent it from affecting every aspect of life. Hannah stated, "The aim isn't to stop worrying entirely, it's to stop it spilling into every part of your day." She mentions that many individuals often start their mornings by checking their phones. “A lot of people wake up and immediately reach for their phones, but if the first thing you see each morning is upsetting information, your stress response can become activated before your day has even begun," she noted.

This practice might be helpful for those whose anxiety leads them to consider worst-case scenarios frequently. "When anxiety increases, our minds often jump ahead and focus on future worries or worst-case scenarios," said Hannah. With this structured approach, individuals can enjoy a better balance between acknowledging their feelings and leading their daily lives.
