State Pensioners in Telford and Wrekin to Get £85 Supermarket Vouchers in 2026

# State Pensioners in Telford and Wrekin Set to Receive £85 Supermarket Vouchers in January 2026

Eligible state pensioners in Telford and Wrekin will receive one-off supermarket vouchers worth £85 starting in January 2026. This initiative specifically targets households consisting of residents aged 66 and above who benefit from Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction.

The funding for this program aims to alleviate the financial burden experienced by pensioners in the area. "In Telford and Wrekin, as well as our application-based scheme, we are using this funding to support state pension-age residents who receive Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction with one £85 supermarket voucher per household, which will be issued in January 2026. We will contact residents directly who qualify with details of how to redeem their voucher," stated the council.

Residents can anticipate receiving direct communication from the council regarding the details of the voucher redemption process. This initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to assist vulnerable members of the community, particularly as living costs continue to rise.
