Solana Foundation Positions Network as Essential for AI-Driven Future

# Solana Bets on AI Agents: Foundation Highlights Network as Key Infrastructure for the Agentic Internet

The Solana Foundation is positioning its network as essential infrastructure for a new era marked by artificial intelligence (AI) agents. This announcement was made during discussions at the Digital Asset Summit (DAS) held in New York, emphasizing the growing capability of the Solana network to support these emerging technologies.

Vibhu Norby, the chief product officer of the Solana Foundation, talked about the transformative impact of AI across various sectors, arguing that "AI is not really a vertical. It's a platform shift… affecting everything across every industry, including crypto." This signifies a broader trend where AI is not confined to traditional applications but is redefining functionalities across the board.

The foundation reported impressive metrics, stating that they have "processed 15 million payments onchain from agents," highlighting the practical application of AI within the blockchain ecosystem. Norby explained that the "programmatic aspect of crypto payments is what is making it interesting for agents," showcasing how smart contracts and automated transactions are appealing in this digital landscape.

Norby further characterized these agents, noting that "Agents are cold, calculated machines… they don't subscribe to crypto religiosity." This perspective reinforces the idea that AI agents operate through logic and data rather than emotional or human biases, implying a shift towards efficiency and precision in digital transactions.

As AI technologies increasingly integrate into financial frameworks, Solana's emphasis on their network's capabilities marks a significant step toward redefining interactions within cryptocurrency and beyond.
