Daughter Travels Monthly to Ensure Father Receives Access to Dementia Drug Not Available at Home

## I fly 1,200 miles every month so my dad can access this dementia wonder drug
Lykke Vestergaard Kastbjerg, aged 42, travels to the UK monthly to help her father, Niels, who is 73, access the dementia drug Donanemab. This medication is currently not available in their home country.
Every month, Lykke makes a journey spanning 1,200 miles. She does this to ensure her father gets the treatment he needs. "It hit me hard. Someday this will be my future, to stand in front of my father and maybe he won't recognise me, or he'll shout at me because he won't know who I am. So I thought, 'I have to do something'," Lykke explained.
Her commitment comes as she hopes to provide Niels with the best chance at managing his condition. Lykke believes that this drug could significantly impact their lives as they navigate the challenges of dementia.
