The low-cost airline EasyJet has marked its return to Newcastle International Airport after a five-year hiatus. This significant move allows travelers in the region to access 22 destinations across Europe once again.

Passengers can expect services to popular locations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, and Nice. "Delighted to be coming home," said CEO Kenton Jarvis, highlighting the excitement surrounding the return to one of the airline's key airports.

The hiatus was due to difficult decisions made during the pandemic, as Jarvis noted, "That [site closure] happened in the pandemic and a lot of airlines had to make a lot of tough choices in the pandemic." With the resumption of flights, EasyJet is keen to capture new opportunities in the UK market.
