Dog Owners Warned of Lethal Disease with 90% Fatality Rate Ahead of Peak Season

# Dog Owners Urged to Watch for Deadly Disease with 90% Fatality Rate
Pet owners are being alerted to a lethal disease that has been shown to have a staggering 90% fatality rate in dogs. The potential outbreak is expected to peak between November and May, making it crucial for dog owners to be vigilant during this period.
The disease has largely been linked to specific skin lesions that are a precursor to more severe health issues. "The first sign is usually a skin sore that cannot be explained by an injury," explained Dr Warner. These concerning lesions typically manifest as a patch of red skin or ulcer, predominantly appearing on a dog's lower legs or paws, although they can also develop on areas such as the face, tongue, or belly.
Pet owners are advised to closely monitor their dogs for any unusual skin issues or symptoms, especially as we enter the peak months for this deadly condition. Immediate veterinary consultation is recommended if any signs are observed.
