British Army Faces Ammunition Shortage Risk Within Ten Days, Expert Warns

# British Army Risks Ammunition Depletion in Just 10 Days, Expert Warns

Renowned military historian Antony Beevor has issued a stark warning regarding the British Army's preparedness for a potential conflict, specifically highlighting the alarming prospect that the army could exhaust its ammunition within ten days of engaging in war.

According to Beevor, the current state of the UK's military resources poses significant risks, suggesting that "the British Army couldn't last more than 10 days before running out of ammunition in a conflict.” His critical assessment underscores a broader concern about military readiness amid escalating tensions in Europe.

The discussion comes as Defence Secretary John Healey revealed that the UK has supplied Ukraine with substantial military assistance. This includes nearly five million rounds of munitions, approximately 60,000 artillery shells, rockets and missiles, alongside 2,500 uncrewed platforms, 30 vehicles, engineering equipment, and 200 electronic warfare and air defence systems.

Beevor further elaborated on the implications of such shortages, stating that Britain is "in the worst position of all" compared to allies. He stressed that while some nations may be "quite in the position to catch up rapidly," the UK faces a critical moment that necessitates an urgent reassessment of its military capacity.
