In a recent assessment of broadband providers, Virgin Media has emerged as the leading service in the UK, showcasing outstanding performance across various categories. This evaluation was conducted by OpenSignal, a notable entity in broadband analytics.
OpenSignal highlighted that Virgin Media excels amidst the UK's shift towards full-fibre networks. According to Andrey Popov, Principal Analyst at OpenSignal, “Amid the UK's ongoing transition to full-fibre networks, Virgin Media has the strongest overall broadband experience across all measures that we track.”
Further insights indicate that fixed wireless access (FWA) remains relatively minor in the UK market. Popov noted that Ofcom has pointed out there are only around 400,000 active FWA connections, which equates to roughly 1 percent of total broadband lines. For many years, a significant majority of British households relied on BT Group's Openreach network for their broadband needs.
