EU Warns of Travel Crisis Affecting UK Holiday Plans and Pricing

# UK Holidays at Risk as EU Warns of Potential 'Crisis'
## Passengers Face Uncertain Travel Plans Due to Flight Disruptions and High Costs
Passengers have been alerted that numerous holidays could be disrupted as the EU highlights an emerging crisis in travel. The warning indicates that travelers might face either cancellations or soaring ticket prices, affecting their summer plans.
The concerns about the travel industry arise from ongoing issues primarily related to pricing, according to statements from the EU. "Unfortunately, it's very likely that many people's holidays will be affected, either by flight cancellations or very, very expensive tickets," according to Sky News.
Jorgensen, a spokesperson from the EU, elaborated on the situation, noting, "[Currently] it is primarily a crisis of prices and not yet a crisis of supply, but unfortunately we cannot be sure to prevent a crisis of supply, especially on jet fuel in the future, if the crisis continues." This indicates that while current challenges are focused on costs, supply issues could soon follow if conditions do not improve.
He also mentioned the potential for recovery, stating, "If we had peace tomorrow and the Strait of Hormuz opens, I think we will manage without that happening, but I have to say that even in the best-case scenario, the price crisis will still last for quite some time." Jorgensen’s comments reflect a cautious outlook on the future of travel prices amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Further emphasizing the long-term impact, he added, "Gas infrastructure has been ruined to a degree that will take years to rebuild and this means for months and maybe years yet we will see much higher prices than we had before this crisis started." This forecast highlights the significant challenges the travel sector may continue to face in the near future.
