Indiana Parents Charged with Murder After Toddler Dies from Malnutrition and Neglect

### Toddler Consumed Drywall and Nappies Before Tragic Death as Indiana Parents Face Murder Charges

Two Indiana parents have been charged with murder following the heartbreaking death of their toddler, who reportedly ingested drywall and nappies. The tragic incident unfolded in the town of New Albany, where authorities were alerted to the child’s severe malnutrition and neglect.

Authorities discovered horrifying living conditions in the parents' home, revealing "feces on the floor in the two children's rooms as well as an abundance of drywall and paint chips, dirt, and pieces of diapers lying everywhere as well as insects/bugs in the home," according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine. These appalling conditions underscored a lack of care for the children.

The child was taken to the hospital where examinations showed that the toddler had ingested "foreign material with a gel-like substance and small white pieces." Reports confirmed that these findings were consistent with remnants found in the diapers worn by the toddler, along with material from the diaper itself. Additionally, some white material extracted from the child’s colon matched the composition of the drywall, paint chips, or spackling.

The conditions surrounding the child’s death have ignited public outrage, prompting officials to address the evident neglect. Authorities are taking firm action against the parents, reflecting a commitment to safeguarding children in the community.
