European Cities Attempting Stag Dos Bans See Rising Popularity Instead

## Three Cities That Tried to Ban Stag Dos Are Now 'More Popular Than Ever'

Authorities in several European cities have attempted to restrict stag parties, yet these destinations are thriving like never before. Cities such as Newcastle, Riga, and Prague have used rules, fines, and extensive publicity campaigns in a bid to deter party-goers. However, their efforts have not discouraged the influx of revelers.

In Newcastle, despite attempts to limit stag dos, the number of visitors continues to rise. Matt Mavir, managing director of a Tyneside-based firm, remarked, "Rules, fines and huge publicity campaigns – authorities in each of these cities have thrown everything at trying to discourage revellers from choosing their city to party, but it hasn't done a fantastic job. Our customers aren't being scared off and the numbers prove it. In fact, these destinations are becoming more popular than ever."

Similarly, Riga and Prague have experienced an increased interest in stag dos, defying expectations. Despite the headlines suggesting that such events are being pushed out, Mavir pointed out, "The headlines can make it sound as though stag dos are being pushed out, but that just isn't happening." This trend indicates a significant resilience in the market for stag parties in these cities.
