Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine are facing severe food shortages, so dire that some reports suggest they are resorting to cannibalism. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's Main Intelligence Directorate has publicly highlighted the grim state of the Russian troops, noting that “Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine are fed three times a day," indicating a stark contrast in conditions.
In response to the ongoing conflict, Ukraine’s Defence Minister, Denys Shmyhal, stated, "Work on the construction of fortifications continues in all front-line regions." Minister Shmyhal revealed that the State Special Transport Service has constructed around 2,130 platoon strongholds and extensive anti-tank ditches measuring approximately 1,864 miles.
