Penny Lancaster Defends Rod Stewart Amid Controversial Comments About The King

# Penny Lancaster Opens Up About Rod Stewart's Controversial Remarks

Penny Lancaster has recently shared insights regarding her husband, Rod Stewart, in light of his recent viral comment, which drew attention for its candidness. This admission comes after a light-hearted backlash where Stewart referred to himself as a "ratbag" during a public appearance.

In a conversation discussing the implications of Rod's remarks, Penny noted, “Who knows what the King thought. All I know is Rod and I have been ambassadors for the King's Trust for over 20 years and have the utmost respect for His Majesty. And you know, Rod is the naughty rocker, who will just say things on the spur of the moment or whatever comes to mind. As I say, maybe a lot of people are maybe thinking that and just didn't come out and say it.”

The couple has had a longstanding relationship, both personally and in their public roles. Penny emphasized their commitment to the King's Trust and indicated that Rod's spontaneous nature might resonate more than just a casual joke.

Additionally, Penny recently attended the premiere of "Rivals 2," as Vice-President of the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People). She expressed her joy in participating in an event that prioritizes accessibility. “RNIB was invited to the Premiere of Rivals 2, through our new President, Victoria Smurfit, who stars as Maud in 'Rivals'. Disney+ have made the series accessible for the blind and partially sighted community through audio description, which our guests with lived experience of sight loss will be hearted last night. I was so happy to be there as Vice-President of RNIB and, like them, I believe that arts and culture should be accessible to everyone, wouldn't that be lovely.”

Through her remarks, Penny reinforces the importance of inclusivity in the arts while shedding light on Rod's unfiltered personality.
