Crown Princess Mette-Marit Requires Lung Transplant Amid Health Concerns

# Palace Issues Worrying Health Update as Royal Requires Major Organ Transplant
Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit faces a significant health challenge as she requires a lung transplant, according to an official statement from the Palace. Recent medical evaluations indicate a sharp decline in her health, leading to urgent discussions about her treatment options.
The Crown Princess's health has deteriorated considerably over the autumn months. "During the autumn, a number of tests have been carried out that show a clear worsening of the Crown Princess' health. The physicians at Rikshospitalet University Hospital have therefore started the process towards an evaluation for potential lung transplant surgery," stated the Palace.
Professor Are Martin Holm, who oversees the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Rikshospitalet University Hospital, added further details about her condition. "We are reaching the point where a lung transplant will be necessary, and we are undertaking the necessary preparations to ensure that this will be possible when the time comes. At present, no decision has been taken as to when the Crown Princess will be placed on the lung transplant waiting list," he noted.
The announcement underscores the urgency of her situation and the commitment of her medical team to provide the necessary care and options for her recovery. The Crown Princess will continue to receive close monitoring and support as preparations move forward for this critical medical procedure.
