**Cruise Line Addresses Concerns Amid Jet Fuel Shortage Warnings**
P&O Cruises has communicated important information to passengers who have holidays booked after June, in light of emerging warnings regarding potential jet fuel shortages. The cruise line’s announcement comes as concerns rise about disruptions related to fuel availability, particularly affecting travel across Europe.
The alert stems from the possibility of significant operational challenges should the transportation of fuel through the Strait of Hormuz not stabilize soon. “If the passage through the Strait of Hormuz does not resume in any significant and stable way within the next three weeks, systemic jet fuel shortage is set to become a reality for the EU,” noted ACI Director Olivier Jankovec in a letter to the European Commission.
Travelers have been advised to stay informed about any developments that could impact their travel plans over the coming weeks. This caution comes as industry leaders evaluate projections related to the availability of fuel, with some estimating that a crisis could develop “maybe six weeks” from now, according to the head of the International Energy Agency.
P&O Cruises' proactive approach aims to ensure that all customers understand the evolving situation and its possible implications for their journeys.
