Frequent Nightly Snoring Linked to Increased Risk of Stroke and Heart Issues, Study Finds

# Nightly Snoring: A Possible Warning for Stroke or Heart Issues

A new study suggests that frequent snoring at night may indicate a higher risk for stroke or heart failure. Researchers found that this nocturnal pattern could be linked to health problems, particularly in certain groups.

The study involved overweight men who were observed for snoring habits. "We discovered that 15 per cent of all participants in the study, who were primarily overweight men, snore for more than 20 per cent of the night on average and that this regular nightly snoring is associated with elevated blood pressure and uncontrolled hypertension," said Dr Lechat.

This finding raises concerns for those who snore. Regular snoring may signal the need for further health checks, especially regarding heart health. The potential implications of these results are significant for public health.

If you or someone you know snores frequently, it might be wise to consult a healthcare professional about blood pressure and overall heart health.
