A new team of drone-killing specialists within the RAF is being recognised for their critical role in thwarting recent Iranian attacks. These air defence experts have shown exceptional skill at the Rapid Sentry air defence range located in Manorbier, Wales. Their efforts are integral to safeguarding deployed UK personnel, allies, and international partners in increasingly hostile environments.

Recent exercises highlighted their capability to neutralise threats effectively, showcasing both advanced technology and skilled operation. The RAF's training programs have equipped these “aces” to respond rapidly and decisively against aerial threats, reflecting the ongoing commitment to national security.

Air Commodore Paul Hamilton praised the deployed gunners for their valour, stating, “Our deployed gunners are showing outstanding courage to defend deployed UK personnel, allies, and partners every day. They are genuinely putting their own lives at risk in the defence of others; as their Commandant General, I am extremely proud of the professionalism and self-sacrifice being displayed by these amazing people.”
