The United Kingdom is set for a heatwave today, with temperatures soaring to 25C in multiple locations. This surge in warmth makes the UK hotter than renowned holiday spots like Ibiza and Athens.
According to the Met Office, the warm weather is attributed to "some very warm, humid air coming up from the south," reported meteorologist Simon Partridge. The eastern and South Eastern regions will experience the most pleasant conditions, as they will enjoy the best sunshine.
"That means we will see some very warm weather, particularly in the east and the South East," added Partridge. As the sun shines brightly, many are likely to seize the opportunity to bask in the unseasonably warm climate.
However, Partridge warned that the forecast for the weekend presents "a different story." He noted that while today marks warm weather, Monday will bring temperatures that align more closely with seasonal averages. "By the time we get to Monday, we're actually going to see temperatures roughly where they should be for this time of year," he explained.
