UK Braces for Thunderstorms After Weekend Heatwave, Warns Met Office

The United Kingdom is poised for thunderstorms following a spell of hot weather. According to the Met Office, certain areas are more likely to experience severe storms on Monday and Tuesday.
As the weekend approaches, temperatures in the south and southeast of England may reach the low 30s Celsius. This sweltering heat is expected to intensify at the beginning of the upcoming week. "While heatwave criteria will be met for some in the south and southeast of England over the weekend, with temperatures into the low 30s Celsius possible, the warmth will expand and intensify at the start of next week, which, coupled with high temperatures overnight, leads to potential impacts," said Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Greg Wolverson.
Regions most at risk will likely see significant thunderstorms due to the conditions created by the rising temperatures. Residents are advised to remain vigilant as the storms could disrupt usual activities and pose safety risks.
