Metropolitan Police Chief Defends London’s Safety Amid Trump's Comments

**Met Chief Refutes Trump's Claims and Stresses London’s Safety**

The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Mark Rowley, has strongly countered comments made by former US President Donald Trump, who described London as a crime-ridden "no go area." Rowley emphasized, during a recent statement, that claims about rampant violence and insecurity in the capital are fundamentally misguided. He highlighted that crime rates in London are considerably lower than in every individual US state, asserting that London remains a safe city.

Rowley’s remarks come after Trump’s assertions that London has been transformed into a perilous environment, implying that there are areas where locals and visitors risk attacks, including violent crime. Rowley dismissed these assertions, underscoring that London is a “much different place” than suggested by critics abroad. “People being stabbed in the ass” is an exaggerated image that misrepresents the law enforcement achievements in tackling crime in the city, he argued.

The Commissioner expressed his commitment to maintaining public safety and invited the public to embrace the realities of law enforcement in a major urban area like London. He reaffirmed that the capital's safety record demonstrates the effectiveness of the Metropolitan Police in their ongoing efforts to ensure a secure environment for residents and tourists alike.
