EDF to Provide Free Electricity to Customers Throughout May 2026

# Major energy provider offers customers 'free electricity' in May 2026

A significant energy supplier, EDF, is set to provide customers with free electricity during May 2026. This initiative aims to assist households amid ongoing efforts to relieve the impact of rising energy costs and promote more sustainable energy usage.

The offer is part of EDF's strategy to utilize renewable energy more effectively. Households will be able to access this free electricity for the entire month, allowing them to enjoy savings on their bills while encouraging a shift toward greener energy sources.

In addition to the May initiative, EDF is promoting its FreePhase tariffs. "If more free electricity is what you're after, customers can also explore our FreePhase tariffs, which give households free electricity whenever there's an excess of renewable energy. Customers on FreePhase benefitted from 37 hours of free electricity in the last fortnight," said Mr. Souto. This program is designed to incentivize customers to use energy during peak renewable production times.

As energy prices remain a concern for many, this offer may serve as a welcome relief for families seeking ways to manage their expenses. By capitalizing on renewable energy production, EDF not only aids its customers in financial terms but also aligns itself with broader environmental goals.
