## Hawes in North Yorkshire Earns Top Spot for Its Red Squirrels and Scenic Views
Hawes, a picturesque market town nestled in the hills of North Yorkshire, has been celebrated for its enchanting landscape and abundant wildlife. With its stunning vistas and the presence of rare red squirrels, it has recently been identified as one of the top hidden gems to visit in England.
This delightful town offers an array of outdoor activities and breathtaking sights. Visitors who venture to Hawes can explore various walking paths, including options for both beginners and experienced hikers. "What a lovely peaceful place to visit. We duly paid our £4 (each) and received a leaflet telling us of a lower-level and higher-level walk. We did the lower level to the waterfall, which had plenty of water coming over. Then we climbed up quite a few steep steps to the higher level, through the trees, to where the views of the hills opened up. Took about an hour to complete both," noted one holidaymaker.
Hawes is not only known for its natural beauty but also for its welcoming community and local attractions. The town provides visitors with unique shopping experiences, artisanal food options, and cultural landmarks, making it a destination worth exploring for those seeking a peaceful escape from urban life.
