# M1 Traffic Update: Major Closure Due to Vehicle Fire

## Fire Engulfs Several Vehicles on Car Transporter

A significant incident unfolded on the M1 motorway, where multiple vehicles have been consumed by flames. The fire occurred earlier today between Junction 19, known as Catthorpe Interchange, and Junction 20, situated near Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

As the fire developed, emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to control the blaze and manage the situation. Due to the ongoing fire response, all lanes on the northbound section of the M1 are currently closed. Drivers should note that there is also no access to the M1 northbound from the A14.

National Highways East Midlands reported the following traffic conditions: "All lanes of the #M1 northbound between J19 (#CatthorpeInterchange) and J20 (#Lutterworth) are closed because of a vehicle fire. Emergency services are on scene. There is no access to the M1 northbound from the #A14. Delays of up to 15 minutes on approach."

Motorists in the area are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise patience as delays develop.
