Israel Continues Offensive Against Iran Despite Trump’s Ceasefire Request

### Israel Ignores Trump’s Call for Ceasefire as Iran Conflict Escalates
Israel has taken decisive military action against Iran, disregarding former President Donald Trump’s appeal for a ceasefire. On a recent Sunday, drones were observed above Beirut, indicating heightened tensions in the region.
The Israeli Defence Forces announced operations targeting Iranian military installations. “The Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, struck military targets of the Iranian terror regime in western and central Iran a short while ago. Further details to follow,” the IDF posted on its official X account.
Tensions have been aggravated by ongoing hostilities. Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin stated, “We struck in Dahieh following Hezbollah's unceasing attacks against communities in northern Israel.” The situation has reached a critical point, with the potential for further escalation.
Trump commented on the situation during an interview with Fox News, suggesting to Iran, “You've shot your missiles, that's enough. Get back to the table and make a deal.” He expressed frustration over the discord, noting, “It's certainly not going to help negotiations.”
Previously, Trump had indicated optimism regarding an agreement between the U.S. and Iran. “We're very close. I would say an agreement would be signed on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this coming week. And now this takes place,” he stated. The ongoing conflict poses a significant barrier to any diplomatic resolutions.
