Charity Whizz Kidz Launches Christmas Appeal to Aid Children with Mobility Issues

# ‘Independence is the biggest thing’ – how our Christmas appeal will change lives
## The charity Whizz Kidz aims to improve the lives of children with mobility challenges this holiday season.
Margot, a young girl who has faced significant challenges due to health issues, discovered the charity Whizz Kidz about three years ago. Her mother, Laura, has been vocal about the lack of resources available for children like Margot, who suffered a stroke as a child. Despite the pressing need for support, Laura's experience highlights that appropriate mobility aids for children are not widely accessible.
Laura expressed her frustration, stating, "It's such a shame because if Margot was an adult and had a stroke, they'd give her a wheelchair. But because she's a child that has had a stroke, there just isn't anything there for her." The lack of resources forced Laura to stay at home with Margot, as she often couldn't manage day-to-day activities that many take for granted. "It got to the point where I'd had to stay home with her because she wouldn't be able to do it, and she'd get so tired and upset when she couldn't access things that everybody else can," Laura recounted.
The work done by Whizz Kidz is aimed at increasing awareness of such issues and providing essential support. Laura emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, "It should be more well known. Until your child needs a wheelchair, you've got no idea about Whizz Kidz. The work they do makes such a huge difference to children's lives." The charity's Christmas appeal seeks to bring much-needed attention and resources to children facing similar challenges.
