British Traveller Discovers Costly Passport Rule at Liverpool Airport

British Traveller Discovers Costly Passport Rule at Liverpool Airport

## British Holidaymaker Hit by Passport Rule at Airport, Faces £1,000 Extra Fee

A British traveler, identified as Terry, experienced a significant setback while attempting to travel from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. This incident occurred when he was unexpectedly turned away due to a passport rule he was unaware of, resulting in an additional charge of £1,000.

According to Terry, the problems began as he approached the check-in counter. “I put my suitcase on the check-in to get my tag, and that's when the warning sign came up through easyJet,” he stated. This alarming moment came as a surprise, as he had not been made aware of the specific requirements related to passport validity.

Terry expressed frustration regarding his lack of knowledge about this rule. “There was nothing in my knowledge about this rule. There were two other people at the airport, and this was happening exactly at the same time. So this isn't just a one-off thing,” he explained. His experience highlights a potential issue affecting other travelers as well.

The situation raises concerns about how often such incidents occur. Terry questioned, “How often does this happen?” Unsurprisingly, his concerns were echoed by the airline's processes, as he remarked, “It happens daily with a lot of people.” This unfortunate encounter not only caused financial stress but also underscored a need for more awareness regarding travel regulations.
