The decision to close these branches was influenced by the rising trend of customers preferring digital banking. A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group noted, "The way people are banking has changed, with over 21 million customers choosing apps to manage their money." This shift has prompted the bank to enhance its digital offerings while providing several alternatives to in-person banking.
Both branches will cease operations on Friday, reflecting the ongoing transformation within the banking sector. Customers can still access services through any Lloyds, Halifax, or Bank of Scotland branch, use the Post Office, or visit banking hubs. Additionally, deposits can be made at over 30,000 PayPoint locations across the country.
