Reports indicate that the volume controls do not function as intended when this feature is activated. "We have received reports of volume keys not working as expected on Android devices that have Select to Speak, an accessibility service for users with low-vision or difficulty reading, enabled," said Google.
To resolve this disruption, users are recommended to disable the "Select to Speak" function. According to Google, "To work around this problem, disable Select to Speak by navigating to Settings > Accessibility > Select to Speak, and then switching the Select to Speak shortcut(s) to off."
