Fury as London City Airport Introduces £8 Charge for Drop-Offs and Pick-Ups

**Fury as Another Major UK Airport Introduces '10-Min Rule' and Slaps Visitors with £8 Fee**

A significant change is on the horizon for travelers visiting one of the busiest airports in the UK, as starting January, this airport will enforce a '10-Min Rule', imposing an £8 fee for those wishing to drop off or pick up passengers. This decision has triggered outrage among visitors and airport users alike.

The '10-Min Rule' allows drivers only a brief 10 minutes for drop-offs or pickups, after which the £8 charge will apply. Airport officials have stated that this crackdown aims to enhance safety and reduce congestion. The changes will be implemented at London City Airport, a facility that already attracts a high volume of passengers relying on personal vehicles.

A spokesperson for London City Airport emphasized, "This move is part of our commitment to encourage more travel to and from the airport via public and sustainable transport modes, of which two-thirds of our passengers already use." However, many critics argue that public transport options are lacking. One commentator pointed out, "Your public transport isn't up to that and your business clients often want to work in cab on way - if you kill your advantages people will start using LHR with Elizabeth line - I would rethink!"

The rollout of these new measures has sparked debates about accessibility and the practicalities of airport transport. Many travelers are concerned that the charges could disproportionately affect those who rely on personal transport, especially during busy travel periods.
