Woman's Unexpected Lactation Leads to Cancer Diagnosis After Medical Evaluation

Woman's Unexpected Lactation Leads to Cancer Diagnosis After Medical Evaluation

## Woman Diagnosed with Cancer After Unexplained Lactation

Laura Rowley bravely shared her story about a shocking diagnosis she received after experiencing unexpected lactation. The incident drew the attention of medical professionals who confirmed her condition.

During a recent medical examination, Laura learned that non-pregnant women can sometimes lactate due to underlying health issues. This raised the concern for potential serious conditions, leading to further tests.

After her initial examination, a doctor indicated there was a "99% chance it was cancer." Despite this alarming news, Laura maintained some hope until the biopsy results confirmed she had Grade 2 HER2-negative breast cancer. "I could see by everyone's face as soon as I removed my bra that they knew what it was," Laura explained.

Laura also discussed her treatment, noting that hormone blockers were prescribed to help address the cancer. "Basically, the oestrogen was feeding the cancer. As a result of the hormone blockers I had to take, I was pushed into early menopause. That has come with hot flushes, fatigue and brain fog to the max," she shared.

This alarming revelation emphasizes the importance of seeking medical advice for unusual health symptoms. If anyone finds themselves in similar circumstances, contacting a GP or medical professional is vital for evaluation and support.
