# Doctor Recommends Hourly Tips to Combat Flight Sluggishness

Many people experience feelings of tiredness and sluggishness when flying. This can be caused by various factors related to being on a plane.

Dr. Asimah Hanif, an NHS GP and medical expert with Staysure, explains that flying disrupts our regular routines. "When we are out of our usual routines on a flight, it disrupts what our bodies are used to," she said.

Another medical expert, Dr. Austin, notes that many individuals have trouble sleeping on planes. "Many of us struggle to get good quality sleep on a plane, and sleep deprivation has a huge impact on your digestion and how you feel," he stated. This lack of quality sleep can affect both how we digest food and our overall energy levels.

Dr. Hanif also points out that, during flights, cabin pressure changes, and oxygen levels drop. "When you're flying at altitude, the air cabin pressure will change and you'll also get lower oxygen levels, which in turn could affect your digestion and your energy levels," she said.

To help manage these issues, experts suggest taking certain actions hourly while in-flight to improve energy and comfort.
