Sainsbury's Online Customers Report Overcharging Due to Technical Glitch

Sainsbury's Online Customers Report Overcharging Due to Technical Glitch

# Customers at Major UK Supermarket Overcharged This Week – Check Receipts

Customers at Sainsbury's experienced overcharging during online transactions this week due to a technical issue. The glitch occurred overnight on Tuesday, affecting orders processed on Wednesday. Shoppers were unable to apply Nectar Points discounts correctly, leading to confusion and frustration.

Many customers reported discrepancies in their receipts, with some expressing their anger on social media. One user highlighted their disappointment, stating, "Excited to get half price leg lamb with my online shop yesterday. Only for u to charge me full price £22! It seems the nectar discount not working for online orders. Sent reply with driver, still waiting refund… So no lamb & £11 out of pocket."

A spokesperson for Sainsbury's commented on the situation, saying, "We are sorry that a brief technical glitch overnight on Tuesday meant Nectar Prices didn't apply correctly on some of Wednesday's online orders." This incident has led to several reports of customers receiving incorrect refund amounts as well.

Another shopper added, "So no nectar prices added to shopping today, received an email about a refund and it's less than it should be!" The supermarket is currently looking into the issue to ensure that customers receive the correct discounts and refunds moving forward.
