The Co-op funeral service has been mandated to compensate a couple, referred to as Mr and Mrs G, due to a troubling incident involving the mishandling of their deceased relative. The firm must pay them £1,125 along with 8% interest for fitting Mr A's body into an unsuitable coffin size.

Mr Woolaway stated, “Mr and Mrs G have said how deeply upsetting it was to see that Mr A's body had been damaged in Co-op's care, and how they've been left with the memory of this.” This unfortunate event highlights serious concerns regarding the standards of care expected from funeral services.
