Experts Warn That Excessive Headphone Volume Poses Long-Term Hearing Risks for Young Adults in the UK

# Brits Ignore Volume Warnings as Expert Reveals Daily Headphone Risks

Many people in the UK are overlooking warnings about the dangers of loud headphone use. Experts say this can lead to long-term hearing damage.

Reports suggest that about 90% of young adults listen to music at dangerously high volumes. Experts recommend lower levels to help protect hearing. They warn that exposure to loud sounds can permanently harm ears over time.

The World Health Organization has stated that more than 1 billion young people are at risk of hearing loss due to loud music. Ignoring volume warnings can lead to serious issues in the future.

“I often see patients who suffer from noise-induced hearing loss,” said Dr. James Green, an audiologist. He highlighted the importance of using headphones at a safe volume.

Health officials encourage everyone to be mindful of volume levels when using headphones. They suggest adopting the '60/60' rule: listen at no more than 60% of the maximum volume for no longer than 60 minutes a day.
