Britain Braces for Hosepipe Ban as Temperatures Approach 34C

Britain Braces for Hosepipe Ban as Temperatures Approach 34C

# Brits Face New Hosepipe Ban in Days as Temperatures Set to Soar to 34C

## Southern Water Announces Measures Following Record Heat

Britain is preparing for a potential hosepipe ban as the Met Office warns of temperatures climbing to 34C in the coming days. This alert follows a warm spring that has significantly reduced river levels across the country, reaching 25% lower than anticipated for this period, according to Southern Water.

The anticipated spike in temperatures will likely exacerbate water shortages, prompting Southern Water to take action. They stated that they plan to implement the hosepipe ban “as soon as we can” to conserve precious water resources. The company emphasized that, “this can only happen when there's enough water in our reservoirs, rivers and underground aquifers to meet demand.”

Concerns over dwindling water levels are heightened as communities brace for continued dry conditions. The measures taken by water companies aim to protect both domestic and environmental water supplies as the heatwave is expected to persist.
