Naga Munchetty Discusses Struggles with Adenomyosis Pain and Normalisation

# BBC's Naga Munchetty Opens Up About Normalising Pain from Adenomyosis

Naga Munchetty, the renowned BBC presenter, has candidly shared her struggles with intense pain linked to adenomyosis, a condition affecting the womb. Speaking in an interview, she recounted harrowing experiences of pain that led her to moments of despair.

Munchetty revealed, "The pain was so terrible I couldn't move, turn over, sit up. I screamed non-stop for 45 minutes." This painful condition has profoundly impacted her life, pushing her to accept and normalise significant discomfort. She explained, “You become conditioned to accept extreme pain with adenomyosis. I have probably got endometriosis as well. If you're curled up on the floor screaming, sweating, flooding, passing out, vomiting, that is debilitating. But you end up normalising that pain."

These comments highlight the broader issue of women experiencing debilitating pain while often feeling compelled to continue with their daily responsibilities. Munchetty’s openness sheds light on the struggles many face in managing chronic pain in silence.
