## Sheraz Malik, 28, faces multiple rape charges at Birmingham Crown Court
Sheraz Malik, 28, is currently facing trial at Birmingham Crown Court on charges of three counts of rape involving a teenage girl. The alleged incident took place in a park, where it is claimed that Malik and a friend took turns assaulting the victim.
The prosecution asserts that the victim was in a vulnerable position, as she was alone and intoxicated at the time. "She was alone, drunk and was obviously a vulnerable person," said Mr. Corsellis, the prosecuting attorney. He added that the two men "decided to take advantage of this."
Malik has denied any wrongdoing, stating, "I haven't done anything wrong." The defense is focusing on the critical aspects of consent and the brief interaction that occurred between Malik and the victim. "The fundamental issues are the question of consent and the nature of the very brief relationship between the victim and the defendant," Mr. Corsellis noted.
The court proceedings continue as evidence is presented, including witness testimonies and CCTV footage from the scene.
