Alan Titchmarsh Shares Spring Gardening Tips and Common Pitfalls to Avoid

# Alan Titchmarsh Issues Essential Flower Bed Tips, Warns of Common Mistakes
Alan Titchmarsh, the renowned gardening expert, has shared valuable advice for creating beautiful garden borders. He emphasized that many amateur gardeners often overlook critical steps in their planting efforts.
Titchmarsh encouraged gardeners to take action this early spring, highlighting the season's suitability for transplanting. "Just start somewhere. The great thing about early spring is that stuff is happy to be moved, and it can stay out for a good few days as long as it doesn't dry out," Titchmarsh noted. He suggested using a wheelbarrow for convenience when relocating plants.
As for managing plant clumps, Titchmarsh explained that some can remain undisturbed, while others may require division. "Some of these clumps are small enough to be left as they are. Others are larger, and this is when you can do some divvying up, dividing a large clump…into smaller pieces, saving yourself money, covering a larger portion of ground…They really don’t mind," he said.
After removing plants, he provided additional guidance on cleaning the area. "These need to come out, so it's then a case of going through with your fork and prizing them out using the fork a bit like a sieve…just to clean it up," Titchmarsh advised. His insights aim to help both novice and experienced gardeners achieve vibrant flower beds this season.
