## New regulations aim to ease travel stress for families this summer.

Starting Wednesday, July 8, new airport regulations will benefit families traveling with young children. The change applies to specific airports across the UK, where families will gain improved access to eGates, speeding up their passage during summer travel.

Under the revised guidelines, children aged 12 and over can independently use eGates alongside their parents or guardians. This adjustment is intended to alleviate some of the stress that often accompanies traveling with younger family members, making the experience smoother for all.

"Travel with young children can be stressful for parents. By expanding eGate access, more families can experience a swifter and smoother journey home – freeing up precious time this summer holiday season. We are delivering continued improvement to the passenger experience, while keeping our borders safe and secure," stated Mike Tapp, Minister for Migration and Citizenship.

Phil Douglas, Border Force Director General, emphasized the importance of security in this change. "eGates are an essential part of keeping our border secure. Expanding access for families will deliver safe, smooth journeys whilst freeing up highly-skilled officers to focus on intercepting those who pose a threat to the UK," he said.

With this rule change, families can expect a more streamlined airport experience, aligning with wider efforts to enhance passenger convenience while ensuring national security remains paramount.
