Afghan Asylum Seeker Sentenced for Abducting and Assaulting 12-Year-Old Girl

Ahmad Mulakhil, an Afghan asylum seeker, has received a lengthy prison sentence for the horrendous abduction and sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton. The incident occurred in December when Mulakhil, aged 30, targeted the young victim while she was walking home from a friend's house.

The court heard that Mulakhil lured the girl into a nearby park, where he then attacked her. The victim was left traumatized, and the brutal nature of the crime has shocked the local community. Authorities were alerted after the girl managed to escape and return home, leading to Mulakhil's swift arrest.

Prosecutors described the incident as a predatory act that caused significant harm to the victim and her family. Following an investigation, evidence was gathered, including testimonies and CCTV footage, which confirmed Mulakhil's involvement in the crime.

In addition to the lengthy prison sentence, the judge emphasized the serious threat Mulakhil posed to the public. The regional police issued a statement following the sentencing, highlighting their commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and ensuring that offenders face justice.

"This conviction sends a strong message that such abhorrent behavior will not be tolerated," they stated. The community remains shaken, but law enforcement's prompt response has provided some reassurance that justice has been served.
