Physiotherapist Introduces "15-Minute Rule" to Help Alleviate Joint Pain for Sedentary Workers

# '15-minute rule' backed by physiotherapist helps reduce joint pain
A new tip from a physiotherapist could assist those who sit for long hours at work. Dr. Kloskowska has suggested a simple practice known as the "15-minute rule." This method encourages people to take a short break every 15 minutes to alleviate joint discomfort.
When sitting for extended periods, the muscles can become tight and lose their full range of movement. "When we sit a lot, the muscle is quite tight. It doesn't have the full range of movement. There is a lot of tension and compression as well in the front of the hip. This can bring up a lot of pain," said Dr. Kloskowska.
Additionally, the physiotherapist advises individuals to review their exercise routines. "What we can do is maybe have a look at our training, how many activities we're doing to exercise the front, and how many activities we're doing to exercise the back, and slightly shift the balance," she explained. By adjusting physical activities, people can better manage joint pain.
